Food habits, traditions, and practices have been passed on from one generation to another in Sudanese societies, but due to numerous factors such as conflict, displacement, and change in environmental conditions, some traditional foods are facing extinction.

The Sudan Traditional Food Festival (STFF) is the biggest cultural spectacle that happens in Sudan, where food, music, dance, and tradition all come together in perfect harmony to celebrate diversity.
Held at Khartoum International Fair’s grounds in 2015, the first edition of STFF attracted the largest crowd to ever attend a cultural event in Sudan. To celebrate the diversity of Sudan, the festival features more than 200 different foods, and music and dance performances all indigenous to the vast land of Sudan.
