Meatball Pasta

Ingredients

500g Nobo Shells pasta

2 tbsp olive oil

Tomato Sauce

1 ½ kg peeled and diced tomatoes

1 cup tomato paste

½ onion

3 cloves garlic

2 ½ tsp sugar

1 tsp salt

2 basil leaves

Meatballs

400g minced meat

½ onion

4 cloves garlic

¼ tsp black pepper

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Boil the water in a large pot (5 litres for every 500g of pasta). Add salt to taste.
  2. Add Nobo pasta to the boiling water and stir continuously to prevent it from sticking together. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Strain the pasta and set aside.
  4. Add a bit of olive oil to a pan and cook the garlic and onions for 2 minutes until soft, golden, and fragrant.
  5. To peel the tomatoes easily, blanch for 2 minutes, then peel and dice.
  6. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and basil leaves to the onion and garlic mixture. Let the tomatoes fully cook and add the sugar and a bit of water. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until thick and set aside.
  7. In a large bowl, add the minced meat, garlic, salt, pepper, and a bit of olive oil. Mix well until everything is combined, then shape the meat into medium-sized balls.
  8. In a frying pan, add some olive oil and fry the meatballs over low heat until cooked.
  9. In a serving dish, toss the pasta with the tomato sauce, add the meatballs, and serve hot.
