Kosti … Violins tickling the heart

Ismael Abdelgabbar, the famous musician played with his violin introducing his orchestra to the public in Kosti, the audience applauded to welcome them and to welcome singer Mustafa Alsunni who started the singing segment of the evening with his strong voice, taking everybody back to Abu Dauod times when he sang “They planted you in my heart”. The people of the city in fact planted seedlings of love and warmth in our hearts and we all enjoyed a mythical night of poetry and music.

While Mustafa Alsunni presented the music and songs of Central Sudan , the Forum presented to the audience Shadin Mohamed Hussein who sang in her beautiful voice accompanied by a dancing group that performed to Kordofani tunes.

The colourful costumes of the dancers, the resonating rhythm of their feet on the stage floor, the drumbeat – all shook the hearts of the audience and filled them with joy. The audience responded with their feet and with their throats, turning the city’s night into a carnival of happiness.

Poetry was also present on this night. Poet Eiman Adam filled the stage, and the souls of the audience with poems of love and adoration.

The audience was brought to their feet in response to the quartets of traditional poetry of Bushra Ibrahim.

That was the second evening of the Forum after a memorable one in El Obeid in the context of the initiative “Across Sudan”.
