People with disabilities encounter more challenges when it comes to their active and full participation in the community compared to other categories in society, even though their contribution to social issues should be as self-evident as any other. In fact, we still see cases where families hide their children with disabilities behind closed doors out of shame.
Integration means inclusion. Community integration is considered to be successful when any person, whether he/she is disabled or not, can be present and participating everywhere, i.e., in school, a workplace, the neighbourhood, or in places of entertainment.
Dal cultural Forum, in cooperation with Khartoum Cheshire Home present an evening titled “Disability and the Community”.
