On the morning of 13 August, the first milk spray-drying factory in Sudan was opened, along with the largest Gum Arabic spray-drying facility in the country. The event was attended by the First Vice-President, and ministers of the economic sector who were all received by Mr. Osama Dauod Abdel Latif, Chairman of Dal Group.
The milk factory produces 12,000 tons of powdered milk valued at 50 million dollars annually.
The capacity of the factory is 5,500 tons of powdered Gum Arabic produced through spray drying and valued at 37 million dollars annually.
With such technology, the factory is considered to be the first factory of its kind in the country as well as the largest. The factory is planned to achieve maximum productivity in the field of dried milk and Gum Arabic, saving the foreign currency devoted to importing powdered milk, on one hand, and generating foreign currency through the export of powdered Gum Arabic, on the other.
