My first job at Dal Food was in Production, later on, I joined the Quality department. At the time, I was very lucky to be part of a dairy committee, formed to develop the Sudanese Standards for dairy products with me representing the industrial sectors. In May 2009, I got an HSE Job offer (first of its kind in the company) and I accepted it. The two positions are very similar yet very different; one focuses on the product and the other on humans, and that is where the challenge lies. After a good year of working solely on HSE, I started building what is now a professional HSE team. And that same year, the Coca-Cola factory was added to my scope of work.
Since then, we have worked steadily on raising awareness about environmental issues, and one major area was waste management. During that time we met more than 7 auditors regarding our safety standards certifications. We have also updated our ISO to 2015.
